Pours a thick black and viscous like motor oil with a tan heavy head and vanilla molasses and burnt caramel notes. Very smooth and thick viscous mouthfeel with a Slight raisin taste with some subtle coffee bourbon and vanilla hints. A very complex beer that dances on the tongue. Awesome example of a rich brown ale. The 12% ABV is not apparent in the flavor. One of my favorites from dogfish head.

Awesome example of a rich brown ale. This could actually hold its own against most stouts. Nice and malty, notes of vanilla, molasses, bourbon. The 12% ABV is not apparent in the flavor. Would have to work your way up the beer spectrum to this one! Going directly from a Bud to this just might cause your head to explode! Would definitely have this again.

Definitely a sipper. Strong in alcohol. Nutty brown ale.

This is a serious dark heavy one. Sweet vanilla and molasses on the nose and palette. Some burnt sugar flavors on the finish.

This beer is a meal. Tons of flavor, but almost doesn't even qualify as a beer.

Dark, rich with notes of raisins; boozy and delicious. Curl up with this at home! Had at PP 4/27/13.

If brown ales were stouts little brother... He just grew up and kicked stouts ass. Very smooth for 12%. Notes of chocolate, and caramel, but not overpowering. No alcohol aftertaste. Not for the faint of heart, but a very good beer!
