jmac222 - July 8, 2012Very smooth and not harsh at all. Surprising for an ale with a high abv. Strong caramel notes.

Fruity, but well-rounded. Not a lot of hops flavor, and I'm getting some raisin flavors. This is a Trappist (monks) Ale. I'm also getting a bit of spices in the flavor.

750ml, tall Petrus glass
Pours a hazy deep brown with minimal--if any--head. Smells boozy, with some dark fruits, and a citrusy or berry overtone. It's probably fig, though. Flavor is a lot sharper at the beginning, and really melds well as the beer warms.
tenthandjordan - July 7, 2012Didnt like it in a bottle at bridie Mckennas. May move down to 4.5 if i dont like it as much on tap. Had at yardhouse on july 25 on draft and wasnt that great. Had to move it down to 4.5. If it tastes like it did today, i would move it down to 4 or 3.5
This is not the tripel i was thinking of
