Very fruity, rich and flavorful beer. Good mouth-feel also. May not be for beginners but should be more drinkable than let's say Pliny the Elder.

A very exceptional dark Belgian ale with an incredible full body taste and with the perfect bitterness. Not too empowering, but with a nice balance in the palate. This premium Chimay is by far my favorite, over the red and white Chimays I've had. With its high 9% alcohol, those Belgian monks sure know how to make their beers.. I start feeling the buzz after one bottle... CHEERS! 9/23/12

Syrupy & malty. Smells sweet & had a mocha head. Very nice.

Perfect. A little sweet, dark ale with a mildly creamy texture and moderate head.
Chocolate and nutty with crisp finish

Strong, but bolder with the sweetness. More fan of the white

9% is strong stuff. At least compared to what we are used to here in the USA. I think I should have been born in Belgium.
