This was my gateway to loving porters, one of my first loves.

First time trying, smooth pour, creamy head with good retention, chocolate and coffee flavors and not heavy, good porter

Full of flavor without the weight

Too much black licorice flavor

Pours dark, semi-thick consistency, small light head. Little to no aroma. Slight bite with light smoke flavor. Slight carbonation with easy drinkability. Surprisingly light with little dryness, deceptively little alcohol taste.

Wee bit heavy, still good but like they're obsidian stout better.

I'm a big fan. Part of it may be nostalgia but this was the first beer I ordered as a pitcher in Canada on a ski trip at 19. But I find it dark but creamy and smooth with a nice after taste

Fantastic, smooth dark beer. Low on hops, high on flavor. It's not easy to get outside of Oregon, but it's worth it if you can get your hands on it.

Creamy.
