Opened a bottle of 2009 in early 2016. It's absolutely perfect. Clear copper-gold liquor topped with a thick white head that gives way quickly to beautiful lacing. The nose is rich with apricots and toffee that carries over into the tongue. The finish is long and rich, and still hints to the abundance of hops that once permeated this brew. I'd say you have a year, maybe two before it jumps the shark...so if you're lucky enough to find yourself in possession of a bottle, don't wait...open it now and enjoy!!

Has typical bitterness of barley wine, but not as long in the aftertaste. Relatively smooth with good aromatics

How different a taste is this? Pretty damn delectable and goes great with a bloody steak! Love this twist to change things up every so often.
