Chill it then as it warms up the flavor kicks into a higher gear I dig this beer.

I first experienced this beer in 2000 in San Francisco. As of 2012, it is still the best smoked porter I have ever had. Impossible to get east of Colorado so if you have the chance, try it. Has the after taste of a camp fire, and I mean that as a compliment.

2012 version. Have also had prior years' versions. A really great example of a smoked beer. The smoke flavor is just right and balances well with the roasted malts.

Went to a beer tasting and sampled the 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2011 vintages of this epic smoked porter. Out of the 5 samples, the 2005 was my favorite. Not overly smokey like the 2009, and much more mature than the 2011. It had a nice balance of bitter chocolate notes and liquid smoke flavor.

Very good! Smokiness is present but not overbearing, a very excellent example of what smoked beers can do
