Borderking - September 2, 2013Wow, this smoked porter is surprising and wonderful! No overtones of chocolate or coffee grounds here. This is a solid, dark, roasty, slightly bitter brew that, halfway through, opens up with the most delectable and perfectly balanced smoke. It's that subtle redolence of charcoal wafting through the finishing stages that raises this porter high above its competitors. An amazing beer, if you can get your hands on it!
pmdockins - June 23, 2013I tried this at the Great American Beer Festival many moons ago. It was excellent. I can't say I would drink a 6 pack in one setting, but a nice beer to drink with a steak or nice dinner. The smokiness is not too overwhelming.
