5-31-13. Pours very dark with a thin dark tan head. Teriyakish on the nose. Full mouthfeel. Roasty bitterness with hints of chocolate, black licorice and slight alcohol as it warms up. Finishes smooth with a slight alcohol heat and dark chocolate hints.

Dark, rich, smooth. Flavored strikingly of coffee, some chocolate, hint of toffee, very slight fruitiness. Great feel, smallish tan head.

It's an ass-kicker. Get it on draft if possible.

Strong peppery, coffee aroma. Chocolate, coffee flavor. Alcohol seems to mellow as the beer sits for a while.

Thick and dark. Chocolate, coffee, and a little smokey. Little sweet, little bitter. Alcohol well hidden, but warms you up.

Had 2004 aged about 4 years on tap at stone brewery. Absolutely delicious stout that aged to perfection at year 4.

Much like my thoughts on other stone beers - good but too intense to really enjoy it or drink much of it. The high alcohol interferes with what seem like great flavors.
