The oak aging seems to screw this otherwise good beer up.

Boring. All of these Oak aged beers are just lame

Slightly reddish copper in color with a thick white foamy head and lasting coated lacing all around the glass. Has the aromas of toffee, barley wine, and hops. Very smooth and syrupy with little to no hoppiness surprisingly, a malty taste, and a subtle vanilla, woody finish. Very slight carbonation and viscous without being boozy given the high abv. Enjoyable but not a hophead beer.
