codehead - March 10, 2013One of my all-time favorites. Complex, fruity flavor profile with strong hints of Belgian beet sugars and yeast. Great with BBQ. This and Rochefort 10 vie for the best Trappist ale. Warning - this is high test hooch!

Very dark brown with thick head. Yeasty, complex scotch-like aroma. Sweet and strong taste with a dry finish. Nice lingering malty, fruity aftertaste

jameson.alford@gmail.com - January 16, 2013It has a gorgeous dark brown color that turns ruby in the light and a light tan head that lasts a long time. The nose is heavy and yeasty. The mouth has a lot of roasted character. There is alcoholic warmth, but it isn't distracting or harsh. It's rather mellow. The finish is long and semi-dry, and the alcohol stands out a bit more.
