My wife thought it had a licorice taste. I don't get that exactly, but it is both bitter and sweet. Lots of alcohol, it feels warm but settles into a fog. Okay, not great.

Great Belgian but a bit too much alcohol aftertaste.

Toast, copper and fruit on the nose. Starts with figs and cherries works into malty and coffee flavors finishes with chocolate.

Although I can appreciate the complexity, the caramel notes along with its sweetness and high alcohol content are overwhelming.

Disappointing for a Belgian, I expected a more pleasant flavor, but it's a let down.
