A great dubbel, epitomizing the style. Fizzy, dark, strong flavor. Medium body. Fig, dates. Lower abc than expected of a dubbel at 7%, but you wouldnt know it from quaffing a glass.

Fairly tasty for form

Surprisingly I like this one better than the Westmalle Tripel. Not usually a fan of darker beers because they tend towards sweetness and sometimes a burnt flavor. But this is really smooth and drinkable. Even has a thirst-quenching attribute?unusual for a dark or a Belgian in my experience.

Not much taste tbh. Goes down easy but quite watery. Get triple if there's a choice

Great beer. Nice color, aroma, taste. Bit of an aftertaste but an excellent beer.

Not a strong Trappist flavor.

Bitter from the hops, but it isn't too bad. Head: enormous when I poured, because the bottle had evidently been shaken and exploded on cap removal! That was fun. Nose: warm, spiced, and cinnamony. Flavors: raisins, coffee, malt, hops. Verdict: it's a good tasting beer, but why'd they hop up a Dubbel?? Had this in Ivan's office, where it proceeded to spray and foam all over the floor while I tried to hold it over a trash can :-)
