Fantastic! A great Belgian beer. A wonderful aroma and very simple beer yet very complex. Very smooth.

Poured a purposeful large head to anticipate the first sip. Very warming, thanks to the alcohol, and sweet. Definitely pick up a tart cherry and date or fig taste. No chocolate taste to me. Somewhat dry aftertaste; not overpowering. Worth a try if you like your Belgians brown to dark.

I pretty much had as many Trappist ales when in Belgium and I think this was one of them. It seems that the Stronger the ale the better. I think there is a 12 in this that was awesome as well

Nice dark beer. Let it sit in a chalice for a couple of minutes to open up.

Opaque mahogany brown with tan creamy head. Diecetal? I smell butter - hmmm. Malty, dark skinned fruit aromas are echoed on the sweet-ish palate. Abundant carbonation on this medium full bodied brew. Might be an off bottle....
