Good. Not overwhelming, nor overpowering. Not terribly hoppy, nor floral. Chocolate tones are subtle, as are all other tones. For its reputation, it's tough to say that it lives to the hype. But, for every point you cannot add to it, you cannot remove one either. That's balance.

A great example of black IPA. Complex flavor, moderate hops. BIPA isn't my go-to style, but some of the reviewers just don't know what it is - not a light lager.

Great beer. Rich, thick, right amount of bitterness with a smooth sweet lasting finish

moderately hopped, minimal floral tones; heavy malt, caramel, and chocolate, and coffee backbone, but overall well-balanced and drinkable, though not my favorite IPA

Bottle and draft. Excellent black IPA. Great balance of hop and dark malts. Aftertaste doesn't linger too long. My go-to black IPA.

Very good, not great. Hint of grapefruit taste, slightly too sweet for me

Dark nice hoppy aroma and taste coffee with slight malty back notes strong on hopps but not too bitter
