Good heavy winter ale with quick end taste.

Very good flavor upfront, though a little too acerbic in the aftertaste hanging around.

This is my favorite beer, dark & hoppy, chocolate & coffee! the best of both worlds!!!

Dark like a stout with a hop! Yum!

I feel like this is a disappointment. I read so many good things about it. I'm struggling to see how this is a winter warmer. The smell is dank hops. The taste is hoppy as well...but it lacks a good malt backbone to balance the hops. There are many other winter brews I would grab ahead of this one.

A great beer to have after shoveling snow off your driveway on a blustery Kansas winter day.

Preface: I don't like IPAs. So hearing comments that it was bitterly hoppy made me reticent. I WAS GLADLY SURPRISED!
It does have a hop bite at first, but the rich malted caramel & coffee flavors explode after and linger long. So I found it really balanced and kept savoring sip after sip. New Belgium consistently impresses me.

I've had snow day quite a few times. I usually buy this and Sierra Nevada's celebration ale during the winter season to keep me happy. I'd say its my second or third favorite for the holidays. Hoppy, dark, but not too heavy.
