Even the types of beer I don't like, Rogue makes them well. They can do no wrong in my eyes (yes, I am an Oregon native). Very good beer

Copper color when poured into pint glass. Generous off-white head leaves moderate lace. Roasty malt and nuts dominate aromas at first but pine and spruce hoppiness follow. Flavors follow suit but with some caramel and nuttiness up front followed by that pine and spruce bitter clean finish. Nicely balanced medium bodied beer with mild carbonation. Worthy of a tasting every Christmas.

One of the few beers I couldn't even finish.I love Rouge, but this was a terrible beer. The aftertaste was disgusting. It was stale with a sour after taste. I had to put it down and switch beers. After I drank a solid IPA I couldn't even stand a sip of this.

Hopper than I was expecting from a Christmas ale. Very hoppy in fact. Plenty of hop aroma too.

Light maltiness, profound hops. Very nice finish.

Caramel, toffee, and roasted nuts up front. It gives way to a somewhat hoppy flavor that balances well with the malt. The light toffee and caramel overtones ring throughout.

Intense and spruce

Slightly bitter Killians taste with a spice-like aftertaste.

great looking head and a nice burnt orange color. The bottle is not lying though when it says a hoppy sprucey finish. I would say it hits a soon as you sip though. Are you sure this isn't an IPA?
