Slightly sweet, malty and dark fruits, great mouthfeel; spectacular brew; had the 2012; aging brought out such complexities

After drinking the 2013 in a wide chalice. Its a fruity bouquet of malty deliciousness that seems to have a new facet of plums, dates, toasted caramel and a yeasty finish that carries you off to Belgium with each sip. It's a warm Brown hue of molasses, that beautifully laces in your glass. With a sweet and smooth mouthfeel that just feels decadent.
The fact that it is 7$ for a tastefully adorned 750ml bottle perfect for your next dinner party all the more reason that it has earned a 5/5. Outstanding!

Really yummy. Sweet but not in an overwhelming way. Has some weight to it. Guy at beer store said "sherry-like". Reminds me of a good sangria. Yum! Get again for a girls night.

Couldn't drink it. Poured with no head. Too bitter, too strong.

2012 bottle. Pours a dark copper with late developing light tan head that then quickly dissipates to a trace of film. Aroma is sharp with molasses and yeast. Flavor is the same. Initially bites with a little bitterness. Light mouthfeel and finishes mostly dry. It's not bad, but maybe a little too much sharp sweetness. Almost Trappist like, but less dark fruits and more just sugary sweet.
