Pours dark caramel to red with little head. Aromas of dates, burnt sugar. Taste is woody, malty, molasses sweet with slight citrus finish and a little sour. Up there with Chimay blue.

Love this one. Stands up shoulder to shoulder with most authentic Belgians

Sweet, fruity, malty, very smooth mouthfeel without feeling thick. A bit sugar, spice, and caramel. Not cloying at all, a very clean flavor.

Not quite as good as the blue and red label Chimay abbey ales but an excellent domestic imitation! Great depth of flavor and complexity.

Very nice specialty offering from Goose Island. Good and mellow malt flavor. Great price for the quality as well!

Different, not my thing but not a bs beer at all. Has a dark chocolatey taste.

2 year 5 month old bottle. Pours with basically no head. Maroon brown color. Belgian sugars and sweetness on the taste. Very good beer! This one is from before they were acquired.

Very slight sourness; hard to describe; smooth; flavors are subtle
