The pictured red label is the dunkel franziskaner Hefe-Weiss. This beer was light-bodied and crisp with a gorgeous, creamy head. Tasted fruity, of the same vein as Hoegaarden, but with distinct banana notes.

Top 5 wheat beers.

The red label, unless they've changed something recently, is their Dunkel...also delicious, but not the standard hefe...

The aroma is a bit weak compared to most German Weißbiers, but the initial taste is still excellent. It's not as smooth as I would like it to be (it's almost more bubbly and even maybe a bit watery), but the malt flavor is most definitely present. The aftertaste disappears quickly, however, and is very similar to the initial taste. What makes this beer worth buying for me is that it is relatively easy to find in the US and it's not as expensive as say a Weihenstephaner.

Pours cloudy and golden. Retains a nice head with wonderful wheat aroma and good mouthfeel. Delicious.

The beer pictured here is far too dark to be a picture of a hefeweissen
