Pours a dark amber, quite cloudy. Big aroma of sweet hops and malt. Minimal head. Really malty, a little bitter, notes of honey, not overly hoppy. Very nice DIPA, ABV of 12% is a little over the top.

Alcohol is hidden in the malt In a good way. Some pine, good nose with a cloudy composition. Clean bitterness. A well executed imperial.

APPEARANCE - 1FH, opaque, amber.
AROMA/SCENT - Hops, malts, floral, sweet.
TASTE - Hops, nutty, pine, brown sugar, bread.
MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Thick, creamy, heavy, syrupy.
VALUE - $20.99 for a 4-pack. Too pricey.
OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - Too boozy, not quaffable.

Wow. Everything I thought it would be and more. So rich, yet turns hoppy without a huge bitter aftertaste. Smooth all the way through, and finishes without any alcohol flavor. To date, this is my favorite IPA (250 beers) hands down. Now I know what perfect tastes like. Thank you dark horse brewmaster. You did good.

Best double IPA on the market hands down so smooth and with 12% does the job fast.

Mellow Carmel flavors at first followed by a pleasant hoppiness that is not too overpowering

Had some age on it which helped mellow it out. Lots of caramel, malts, dough, and fruit, but still too strong.
