Great abbey smooth and silky no malty after tones and no stupid gig or cinnamon flavor

Very carbonated which makes for nice head when poured. It's one of the better Xmas ales I have had. That being said, I don't think I'm a huge Christmas ale person. They are a little too cinnamon/spicy for me. Never had a bad St. Bernardus

Frankly this is a very decent dubbel, but a bit disappointing as a Christmas ale - clove and cinnamon forward, but not spicy enough for a Christmas ale.

One of the best Christmas beers I've tasted. Triple/quad cuts the spice

Very tasty! Extremely frothy head, great color and aroma. Lots of carbonation, which remains throughout. Just an all around great dark Belgian.

2011 tasted better than 2012?

Banana-y

Spicy, but works well for a holiday Belgian strong. Is a bit thin though and somewhat boozy. Perhaps 4-6 months of cellaring would do it some good
