Not sure how to approach this. It says barrel aged, but isn't specific on the type of barrel. I would say for sure a; bourbon barrel, whiskey barrel, etc. This beer is excellent in moderation, but by no means is it worth a huge champagne esque bottle. It tastes like milk stout mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with Bourbon/Whiskey. Call me a novice for not knowing the diff between whiskey/bourbon, but this is the synopsis of what I give it.

Got this on a recommendation when I said I liked rogue hazelnut. This one you definitely taste the oak and the vanilla-which may be a turn off if you like the malty sweet flavor over oak.

Nice smooth mouthfeel. Full body. Good whiskey and roast malt nose and flavor.

Drarkish. Really good for wut it is. Tastes like double youngs chocolate stout should have tasted like. Very chocolatey aftertaste.

Best of the strong stouts I've ever had. Most are way to sweet! This beer was sweet but well balanced! The sweetness was never overpowering! This sounds wired but I have tried pairing this beer with a number of foods and the best so far has been plain chocolate M&M's. Again I know this sounds wired I am not big on candy either but just try it!!!

Way too much bourbon for me. Stouts are OK but this was like drinking a 16oz highball.

Dark, rich beer with hints of vanilla and chocolate. Great for a cool evening by the fire.
