mkymouse73 - May 4, 2013Color not superblack, can see caramel and reddish fig color throughout. Not a lot of head on mine. Nose has coffee, espresso, touch of chocolate, not as strong as say FBS. Taste-- coffee hits you first, trying to pick out the belgian yeast funkiness, not quite there ... will have to try Unibroue trois pistoles to compare. Weird feeling-- looks kind of like trappiste rochefort, tastes nothing like ... so not a fair review. Will have to let this one warm up to be more fair about complexities.

reedie@hotmail.com - April 5, 2013Mild nose -- Belgian sweet smelling-- and mild stout first sip. Bubbly and smooth. Very long caramel finish that's a little bitter but not deep.

zomerhouse - April 4, 2013Smooth, roasty and malty. Subtle chocolate and coffee undertones with a velvety finish. Got better as it warmed

firebirdc5 - March 21, 2013Good solid stout. Not much of a bitter aftertaste. Nice hint of chocolate and coffee. Even good when it gets warmer

dfresh11 - February 28, 2013Smooth and malty. Has some subtle chocolate and coffee undertones with a velvety finish.

michael_davis1@mac.com - February 26, 2013Was so looking forward to this, but very disappointed. Too strong and smokey for my taste. I get the overwhelming dark coffee, but I don't taste this so-called chocolate flavor. Definitely not sweet either.
