I'm a sucker for these chocolate stouts, and this one is no exception. This first sip is bitter and coffee, but that note fades after the initial taste. Then, pure chocolate roast with a tad of bitter stout flavor. Finishes malty. This is great and lives up to its name. My only gripe is the lack of complexity. It does have several distinct notes, all that work together, but its missing the wow factor.

Delicious! Smooth, chocolatey, and a bit malty Has to be fresh though - have had some that aren't fresh, and they lose the smoothness. 4.5 stars when fresh, 3.0 or less when not .....

An exceptional dark sweet stout. I prefer this over Murphy's stout. Semi-sweet and rich in flavor. Thick malty texture like chocolate shake in the palate. Cheers! 4/25/13

Not a lot of chocolate flavour for a double. Had to get it to almost room temperature to get any chocolate. Prefer my home brew double chocolate stout.

Very smooth. No bitterness. Chocolate and coffee flavors nice but not overpowering. Definitely worth trying.

One of my favorite all time stouts. I have had this beer all over the country and the best bar to get this beer at is The Flying Saucer in downtown Nashville. I have had this beer at many other places and it has always seamed flat and the flavors rather blan. But whatever the saucer does from how they have their taps set up to the way they pour this beer it just brings this beer to life. I don't know whatever they do but it tastes so much more fresh and the coffee and the chocolate notes are much more apparent than anywhere else I have tried this beer at!!!
