Smooth nutty dark caramel Scottish Ale. Recommended!

Ok, but a little bit weird with an aftertaste.

B. Not big enough in alcohol or body for a wee heavy. Sweet malt fairly simple.

Great malt start with prominent sweetness finished with nice peat smoke

Nice bitter sweet taste, but I'd rather spend my high abv (7.4) on Anchor Barley Wheat, which has a better taste.

Taste is wonderful- not to sweet but with a sweets& almost buttery aftertaste. One of my favorite beers!

Very Good Scotch Ale. Smooth flavor and nice aroma.

I love Belhaven Brewery, but this particular beer I'm not a big fan of. The aroma is not too pleasant. The taste makes it a bit better. Malty with toffee finish. Don't taste the hops like other tasters noted in their posts. May be better on tap(?).

Very unpleasant bouquet with a very strong odor of a bologna sandwich with mayonnaise. I wish that was a joke, but that is really my impression of this beers very strong odor. There is also a hint of a skunky metallic odor that i associate with Dos Equis. The beer has a very cloudy reddish brown coloring, akin to a red ale. Thankfully, the beer doesn't taste quite like its bouquet. It is intensely sweet, and tastes like a sweet porter. There are notes of toffee and caramel at first, but it is a bit flat and is not to my taste. There is a small metallic aftertaste with a lingering sweetness. As a fan of both Scottish ales and English ales, I feel this brew fell far short of my expectations.
