Good feel, but I didn't get a lot of the IRS aroma that is so good with this style.

A little too strong of an alcohol taste. But love the kind of raisin flavor which is weird because I hate eating raisins.

Licorice taste overrules any chance of this one tasting like a beer

Beautiful chocolatey dense head. Strong licorice nose.

Note: this is brand new 2011
A - this pours a light blocking inky black with a beautiful 2 finger head that quickly fades to clingy lace.
S - nice soft smoke and goodroast.
T - very complex! Very smoky with big espresso backbeat. Definitely best at 50 - 55 degrees.
OA - a great beer in a great style. In my top 5 RISs!

Very tasty. Smooth, full flavor. One of the best imperial stouts I've had.
