Golden-yellow clear pour with no sediment. The scant amount of head culminates into lace tracings. Sweet, floral and herbal nose. Medium mouthfeel and small amount of carbonation. Obvious hop burst that quickly smooths over into sweet fruit notes. Definitely not the hop bomb that Stone is known for but it's their version of if a Belgian and IPA had a child. I wouldn't have been able to tell that this had any Belgian influence since the IPA gene was way dominant but the yeast gives it an extra dimension compared to the cookie cutter west coast IPAs and typical offering from Stone. Interesting tid bit... "Belgique" is how Belgium's French speaking population say the word Belgian. The Dutch speaking Belgians say "Belgie" so half of the bottles are labeled Cali-belgie and the other half Cali-Belgiue so it's not misrepresented. If half of the name is Belgian then there should be an equal presence of yeast and hops. There wasn't enough of a balance to merit this marriage.

Hoppy and sweet. Smells like a blue moon, but doesn't taste like it. Definitely get floral taste. Not bad for someone who isn't the biggest IPA fan. Couldn't drink more than 2 in 1 sitting. 3 stars!

Decent IPA, not their best. Slightly skunky taste on the front end along with bubblegum. Hops come in on the back end.

An exceptional IPA with a tone down complexity. Very crisp bite, with a subdued sweet caramel taste and a zesty scent. Brewed to perfection. Cheers from sunny SoCal USA! 3/21/15

Smells like cigarettes and something that died. Strong pepper taste and barely tastes like an IPA.
It's only redeeming quality is its ABV. Not a fan, 2 stars.
