Expected awesome, got very good

INCREDIBLY well-balanced. Pours a dark golden-orange with a finger head that stays throughout. Lots of floral notes on the nose as well as citrus. The taste opens up exactly the way the nose suggests. Leaves a very light mouthfeel without being dry. Wonderful beer.

Over-rated and hoppy as hell. Okay for a hop bomb i guess, but there are better hop bombs!

Very smooth hoppy taste with a very hoppy aftertaste.

IPA isn't my favorite kind of beer, but this is a delicious IPA! Wonderfully floral smell. Strong but well balanced citrus flavor. Maybe a pinch overhyped, but still a first choice beer.

I've had some of the best beers in the world and I have to say Russian River Brewery's Pliny the Elder is my personal favorite. What else do you want in a beer? Perfect color, nose, carbonation, body, hop flavor and finish. There is a reason why I live in Santa Rosa. Cheers.

Not nearly as memorable as Heady Topper, but still a top tier IPA that's worth seeking out to check off your bucket list.

A solid IPA but not the mythological prototype of the style everyone claims it to be. I actually prefer a stronger hop character like that of the 90 minute from dogfish head or the more citrusy notes of day Sculpin from Ballast Point. This beer is good- like 3.5-4 star good- but not mind blowing.
