Full-bodied, heavy, and very filling. Very dark. Hoppy, with lots of smoke. It's a good beer, but is never have more than one at a time.

Definitely taste the oak smoke. Dark Amber color. Good head and lace down the glass. Slight dry finish from the alcohol. Bitter at the finish.

Great wine nose w sherry scents good syrupy sweet begininning and a whiskey okay middle with that stone signature hop finish

Very close in flavor to my all time favorite DFH olde school ..... A little hot at first but then smooths out to a nice sweet bitter taste .... For an abv of 11.6% it's not that noticeable .... Will be getting this again and aging one also

Like the regular old guardian but better. Pours creamy and thick. Nose gives off a smoky sweetness. Upon drinking the smokiness is the first thing to hit you. Then leaves a strong aftertaste of saltiness and smokiness. Almost like bacon....:)

Great smoky boozy flavor.

For me the smoked flavor was too over whelming.

Despite some malty, peat-like sweetness and a trace of earthy hops, the nose is overly boozy. Visually it displays a gorgeous reddish-orange cloudy body, while tastewise I noticed a plum dominance alongside hints of smoke and a fair earthy dryness. A solid linger and a full body complement this sold brew. Now I must try a barrel-aged version. Grade: A-

From a bottle: good head, good retention. Nose: lots of smoke. Body: medium full Mostly tastes like smoke, reminds me of a rauchbeer. Doesn't have quite the malt to balance it that I had hoped for. Hops are pretty much overwhelmed.
