A bit more bitter / hoppy than your typical stout. A good thing!

Excellent stout. One of my favorites.

More of a solid black IPA than Russian imperial... First off this is better than the chocolate yeti, which was too boozy, but pales in comparison to the Oatmeal Yeti which I loved...this guy has a nice roasted, smokey flavor and dark chocolate finish that unfortunately has a hoppy finish some sips.. Not extremely overwhelming in the hop arena but certainly not what I want in a stout.. BUT as it warmed you started to get hints of vanilla and oak ... A decent beer but definitely not top 100 material. 3 maybe 3.5 stars if I'm feeling generous.

Pitch black with a short caramel head. Lots going on in this beer, coffee and chocolate on the front, strong hop bitterness on the back, and some subtle oak notes along the way. Mostly it feels like a beer that can't decide what direction to go in, it has everything in it but nothing stands out as the main actor. More thought needs to go into the balance. Pairs well with dark chocolate.

2015 release; 12.5% ABV. Deep, opaque, mahogany color with modest chocolate-brown head. Expansive aromas of roasted malt and coffee. Full bodied with moderate carbonation, big flavors of roasted malt and modest hoppy bitterness.
A great brew for special occasions (like evenings that end in "y"). Worth the price.
