Partial to Founders, but this is arguably the best of their barrel aged stouts. It?s the perfect balance of bourbon aged flavor and the cocoa and coffee flavors really round it out. Pour, let it set for a few minutes and warm up. I like it almost at room temperature for the best flavor.....at least the first one, lol. 4 stars all day, every day.

2019 Version. Clean, smooth taste. Nice bitter chocolate flavor layered over a traditional stout character.

Great taste and smell. Flavor of coffee, chocolate hint of bourbon to finish. Love to find more!

Let it be known that he has officially made the yummy sound. Though I am not a huge fan of coffee stouts, this one wins because of the full body, hint of bitter chocolate, and excellent bourbon barreling. And not overly detectable coffee. Had at Lake Washburn. Had again in December and this one is a winner. It would be a good entry level barrel stout, but it is going to work for more seasoned drinkers too. It may not be as rich or intense as some other barrel stouts, but you can pour a whole pint and drink it like a regular beer and you could want one the next day too. By avoiding overkill, this one hits a sweet spot. Had again in June 2019, not long after a revisit of Founders CBS: Founders knows how to use coffee in beer, unlike most other brewers who overdo and unbalanced it.

Pours dark, looks like soy sauce, but boy what a taste. Heavy, thick and sweet - almost detecting a licorice taste in addition to the coffee. Great for sipping and enjoying.

Only gave it one star because I don?t like coffee. I?m sure it?s a good beer for others. This was the 2018 release.

The hype behind this beer is immense, and it truly lives up to it! Dark chocolatey notes with coffee and a hint of bourbon. Very decadent. Enjoyed every drop.
