Fantastic brown beer. When I looked at the bottle more closely after trying the beer, I was surprised by the high 10.5 abv. It is sweet but not burnt tasting. If you like trappist style beers and you like browns, you won't be disappointed.

Deep dark brown - opaque. Tan head that lingers. Malty, plummy, chocolate aromas. Big on palate. Alcohol is just a little hot. Modest carbonation and full bodied. I think more carbonation would've helped this brew. Too malty sweet for me.

Not bad for a dark beer, but I'm not a huge fan of dark beers!

Belgian-style quad tasting at The Davis Beer Shoppe. This one is the best of the lot.
