Clear copper in color with one finger of foamy white head that quickly dissipates. Pungent aromas of chestnut and malt. Medium to light in body this beer drinks like a dark mild but packs a punch at 8%. Has a malty chestnut forward followed by a warming nutmeg spice. Has a malty finish with a roasted bite. Very tasty winter warmer.

Like a fine wine, every vintage is a little different from the previous. On the "on" vintages, this is simply the best Christmas beer - dangerously so :). Very balanced spice and malt with a background hop which goes with everything from Steak to cheesecake.
On the "off" years still compares well with the likes of Southern Tier's Christmas, Thirsty Dog Siberian Nights and Nice Chouffe. Usually a little too much spice or astringent in those years.
