Very good tasting, smooth high % ABV beer. I have been very impressed with Founders beers all together.

Smells... Old? Kind of boozy with sweetness to balance. First sip is quite warm; almost tastes like bourbon. Sweet in the front end with a tiny bit of bitterness. Thick mouthfeel. Not sure what to rate this, maybe 3/5?

LIKE IT. LIKE IT. LIKE IT

Not too bad. The sweetness help balance the bitter aftertaste.

Mild bitterness with somewhat spicy and sweet taste. Low carbonation. Not bad for a darker beer.

Flat and sour. Good hop/malt balance.

Hazy copper colored pour into globe glass produces minimal head and lace. Malty boozy caramel and toffee aromas and similar flavors with warmth of ethanol. Yeasty presence. Medium bodied with minimal carbonation. Perfect with a hearty meal.

Strong, malty; barleywineish tasting ale. Good, but I wouldn't necessarily seek out again.

Copper colored with a small slightly off white head. Mild sweet malt aroma. A little wet newspaper smell coming off of it. Mild sweet flavor. The malt dominates. Mild floral aftertaste. Mild fruitiness in the center. Alcohol is hidden very well.
Actual name is Old Curmudgeon.
Draft.

Pretty sweet for the style, lots of malt and a bit of a boozy finish, but nothing overpowering. Very good version of this style.
