12oz, pint
Pours black with a thick white film for the head. Chicory really comes through on the nose, and transfers as an interesting tanginess on the palate. Light-bodied for a stout, with medium carbonation. Overall it's okay, but the malt is so subtle that there's only the chicory in the flavor. There's supposed to be some Mexican coffee, but I can't distinguish. Since neither is full enough to carry the beer, it seems one-dimensional.

Rather large foamy head, very dark, the chicory flavor adds a little slice, a little carbonated, not really smooth,

Powerful coffee taste upfront that holds through the finish. Thin, fleeting head but with nice dark colour. Nicely balanced, light stout. Drinkable, for sure. Better than most coffee flavoured stouts out there.

From the bottle - Flat carbonation, flat taste. I may have ended up with a bad batch. It was boozy, acrid, and the coffee flavor just seemed forced. Rather one-dimensional. My first disappointment from Dogfish. May have to try it again.

Primarily good stout flavors but complex undertones. Not a fan of stouts as I used to be but this one keeps them interesting.
