spark540 - March 28, 2015Cappuccino stout- lagunitas brewing co. 8.9% Petaluma, CA
Heavy black coffee aroma with a hint of jalapeño. Dark brown pour with a subtle mahogany hue. Medium mouthfeel with no carbonation. Small amount of tan colored foam that dissipates quickly. Tastes more like espresso than cappuccino. Heavy stark bitterness that lingers. Just like the aroma I sense a touch of jalapeño but mainly burnt coffee. Would pair well with sweet chocolate desserts as the bitter would offset the sweet. I'm a coffee addict but it sounded much better than it tasted.

aaf145 - January 25, 2015After loving their Russia Imperial Stout, this was certainly a let down.. Not as creamy as I hoped.. Thin and almost watery.. Not much of that coffee flavor I was looking for.. However can't taste the abv and $6 a pop isn't bad either...2.5 stars
