Pours opaque dark chocolate with a dark brownish head. Sweet aroma with chocolate notes. Bittersweet up front that sticks around.

Way too light in the body, the beer needs to put some meat on its bones. A thin porter really; could use some truth in advertising from the typically reliable Bells. What is the use of a beer like this? For inexperienced beer drinkers who need light but want to try dark. To drink with rich or heavy food. Its also the kind of dark beer a cookie cutter brew pub serves. Did I mention that it lacks flavor? A little Smokey; it does have that.

Smooth and drinkable - good mouthfeel slightly sweet but with a smoky/coffee type finish. I did like it more when very cold tasted a little more bitter as it warmed

Some sweet chocolate and toffee notes, but there's a little too much smoke; almost a burnt taste. Good to try, but I won't go back.

Dark full flavor. Has a hint of sweetness but was expecting more due to the double cream
