The blackstrap molasses and maple syrup flavors come through in this barleywine ale.

SRM22. Short lasting head in tulip glass. Well carbonated with lots of bubbles. Fruity aroma. Intense burst of flavor and lots of fruity esters. Alcohol has a bite but also pairs wel with the hops. Mild bitterness.

Nice barley wine. Strong malty caramel backbone. Hops come out as it warms but add some balance. Overall good play on a barley wine.

First sip hits a punch

This beer was added because all of the other back burner entries appear to be specific to a specialty batch. This is just for the generic southern tier back burner barley wine now. The beer itself is good but not rich enough to make an excellent barley wine.

Disappointing. Too hoppy for me to enjoy. Not malty at all, slight boozy taste.

How can this be called an imperial barley wine. Am I missing something. Hops are good but where is the malt. Get real you fucks who are rating this above 3 stars - learn about beer and get back to me

Very strong barley wine with a sweet bourbon-barrel taste at the end. Not a thirst-quenching drink, more like an after-dinner drink.

BIG BARLEYWINE!!!! very Carmel laden and dense, sweetly flavored with a little vanilla 14.1% and a full on mouth coating with each sip
