It?s a good saison, but I just tried Letub Farmhouse Saison from Whiner Beer Co. this week, and that was much better.
There?s plenty of great carbonation and wonderful body to Apex. Its not too thin, not too heavy. And I love the cloudy straw color. However there is a ?funk? to the Apex that does not thrill me. It just seems a bit off. Maybe my taste buds aren?t sophisticated enough? In any case I can?t give it 4 Stars.

Overrated. Not sure what beer the others are rating. The aroma and flavors are pretty typical farmhouse, except a little extra hops, but it is weak and watery. Tastes like it got mixed with a Pilsner. Admittedly, it grew on me the more I drank, but this attempt should be a failed prototype that requires some big tweaks. Two to two and a half stars. Got at Basecamp Wine and Spirits in Frisco, CO. Having forgotten that I got this Chicago beer in CO, I purchased it again at The Craft Beer Store in Libertyville, IL. Reassess: overpriced; ok, not bad, funk, fairly pleasing, not that much personality.

Very Belgian on the yeast character. Delicious and different tasting saison. More malty than dry

Pretty good farmhouse ale, a little hoppy, touch of sour in the middle, finishes dry. Good brew, not my favorite.

Nice balance of hops and citrus. Cloudy, refreshing. Went well with seasoned food. Prairie Moon with Byron. April 2016
