Pours nearly black with a thick tan head that dissipates quickly. Smells slightly of burnt coffee and smoke. Tastes mostly of smoke with a little bit of pine and coffee. Feels thin and watery. I prefer stouts to have more viscosity than this. Decent, but seems more like a porter to me.

Good body; not too bitter, or heavy. Flavor on the mild to underwhelming side.

I consider this to be one of the best American stouts that you can buy.

Bottle version. A little chalky and muted malt/hop flavors with a slightly bitter finish. Did not capture me, but I will reserve judgement until it can be sampled on tap.

Almost black body w/ khaki head. Deep roasted malt & coffee aromas. Coffee, bittersweet chocolate & huge malt flavors. Smooth & balanced.

Wow great stout , enjoyed every sip of it. Had everything u can ask for in a stout 4 stars .. Malts a little hop ,chocolate very well done!!

I gotta give this the full five! Such a bold combination of roasty dark malt, coffee, and surprisingly active hops. The perfect balance deserved the perfect score!
