On draught at Lowlanders Grand Cafe in Covent Garden, November 2017. Kasteel Donker is a fine example of an on-the-sweet-side Belgian quad, but their Rouge is terrible. Fake, overpowering cherry-syrupy flavor.

An interesting fruit beer. Actually tastes like a Belgian Ale or quad blended with a heavy cherry desert wine. Also hints of brown ale and Jaegermeister flavor. The higher alcohol content does come through in the flavor. A very pronounced cherry flavor as cherry beers go.

Doesn't taste like a beer-- more like a boylan's black cherry soda. But not bad.

A big Belgian brown with cherries, this ale is tart throughout with a nice malt balance. The alcohol is dangerously hidden within the prominent cherry flavor.

Very strong cherry taste. Sour. Smells like cherry cough syrup, which isn't very pleasant, but the taste was still pretty good.
