Pours nice and dark. Medium body nice roasted malt flavors. Black coffee - chicory, hints of dark unsweetened. Finishes clean with a little lingering bitterness.

Very dark but smooth. Perfect with a chocolate cigar.

Aroma:
Subtle and sweet, with slight hints of dark cherry and cola.
Appearance:
A very deep garnet, bordering on black, with a large just off tan.
Taste:
Light and nutty. Distinct taste of wet peanut shell. The light mouthfeel makes this a very quaffable drink. The flavor lingers for a second before fading into a light coco style bitterness.
Overall:
This is a very subdued beer for this brewery, but in this case it really works. The roasted, nutty base is dialed down by the light mouthfeel, making it a very easy drink. I would say that they may have gone a little to far in the lagering, sacrificing a little too much of what seems to be a very tasty malt base. This would be good with the game if you want to stand out a bit in your selection.

At first sip I wasn't sure I'd like this. It almost has a coffee taste and I hate coffee, but after a few more tries I fell in love! Dark and bitter but still smooth.
