Surprisingly malty, and despite being IPA not too heavy on the hops for a non-IPA lover. Tasty cold.

Decent offering from Sam Adams - thick, molasses sweetness with a licorice aftertaste. Not for everyday drinking, and certainly not among the best out there, but a unique flavor profile from a mass-market brewer.

Slight hop profile. Grape taste at eh front ends. Malty in the middle. Maybe chocolate and coffee notes.

Any hope I had that Sam Adams still crafts good beer is lost. Granted, this is not a water lager like their other stuff. And, I have no idea what a Baltic Porter should taste like. But this seems to most closely resemble something in the Bock family, with its herbal malts. In fact, its like a hoppier version of Anchor Bock that quicker finish, not enough carbonation, and a lingering plant aftertaste. On second thought, it may be closer to Bard's Sorghum Beer. Not worth the money, unless you like that stuff. I will be dumping the second half.
