BOSTON, MA (January 26, 2012) – BrewGene, the beer recommendation app for the iPhone, has announced the launch of its Android version. Available now for a free download in the Android Market, this powerful recommendation tool will help Android users discover new beers.

Launched in June 2011, BrewGene.com and the BrewGene iPhone app are innovative online and mobile tools that recommend beers based on users’ unique preferences. The recommendations are generated from BrewGene’s extensive database that totals over 45,000 different beers. Tens of thousands of BrewGene users have rated more than 600,000 beers.

“With over half of the smartphone world running on Android, we recognized the importance of expanding BrewGene to a new audience,” said Connor Tyrrell. “We’re excited to finally share the app with the Android community.”

Android users can now experience the comprehensive and convenient features that BrewGene offers. This includes a recommendation engine, an instant beer search, a ‘watch list’ and access to beer statistics. The new expanded audience will continue to improve the user-specific recommendations.
