Tastes like a clove cigarette dipped in raisins and dark cherries, and just WAY too sweet for me

I really like this

Solid dark ale.. Heavy raisin flavor, mixed with a slight spice... Pretty smooth, only complaint I had it is very sweet.. Still a 3.5 star rating .. Heavy abv and very drinkable

Do I have to say any more about Unibroue? Everything that company makes is fantastic. This is dark but mild, well-balanced, slightly spicy, and somehow always gone.

Perfect beer for a sub-zero Minnesota evening.

One of the best around. I love drinking this beer on a cold winter night. The rich caramel and spice are so good.

This is a very well made beer. Smells like a Chimay, but it's way more carbonated. Definitely not as heavy but the flavor is there for sure. Smell is awesome. Really enjoying. First beer from Unibroue. The more I drink it the more I don't love it. It has a stronger alcohol flavor as it warms up and it has a thinner body than I normally enjoy. Still a complex beer...just not my type.

Personal Notes: This beer has become a traditional beer brewing partner. When I brew, this is in my cup, it is affordable and delicious. It is higher in alcohol and has all the awesome notes of a dark ale.
First Taste: Haskell's Liquor; Maple Grove
Cost: $6.49; 750mL

Interesting beer with a strong rasin/dark cherry aroma like a plum, took me by surprise. With a climax aroma to a smooth finish. Good beer, 4 stars

I often find this brewer inconsistent in its product line. Some good some poor. Trois Pistoles is one of my favourites however being sweet and rich though the over carbonation is niggling. One is enough due to the high ABV. Great beer.
