Cool brewery in Washington

Ok.

11/5/2015. A bit mellow but good hop kick with strong citrus both at the end.

Heathen has done a great job with their, over-the-plate, straight-down the pipe IPA. Nothing fancy, but a really great, citrusy, hop-forward IPA. It's friendly to new IPA drinkers as well. My wife had been basic beer drinker, happy with Coors Light, and the craft 'blondes.' One weekend, we stopped at Heathen, to visit one of my son's good friends, who just happened to be the brewmaster. It would have been RUDE if we didn't sample his art, wouldn't we? ;-)) My wife, being a good sport, tried (almost) everything, and absolutely LOVED the TRANSCEND IPA. I made her taste is twice, because I thought she confused it with something else. Yet, she affirmed the TRANSCEND! And she has never looked back! She now recognizes that most all light beers, are tasteless, regardless of brewer. (yes, there are exceptions...I just haven't experienced one yet) My wife, now, is a craft IPA / IIPA convert, and all the happier for it. All thanks to a great brewmaster, making a great example of what a classic American (Left Coast, even) IPA .

Decent IPA. But certainly nothing special.

Pretty standard ipa, although drank out of order so might be better than expected.
