Sweet malty and hoppy. Dark thick head. Subtle coffee flavor and a lingering pleasant finish.

Very hoppy stout. Almost like a very black IPA. Tasty. No alcohol burn but the gravity is obvious. Coffee and oak notes.

Cross between a black IPA and a stout, chocolate taste with hop bitterness. Not as velvety smooth as the best stouts, but pretty good overall. Bottle, march 2013.

Taste like a black IPA and they use good hops simcoe, centennial and others good stuff def worth trying

Wonderful RIS. On draft; hops were there, but pretty in line with most RIS's. NOT a Cascadian/Black IPA! Chocolate, toffee and roast malt, but not a roast bomb. Surprisingly good woth BBQ! This would cellar well. A-. 44/50.

I have had some thick and stout beers, but this one takes the cake. Heavy swallow with a smoky after taste. If you grab a sixer make sure you have five friends to share with. About nine bux...

I'm not an IPA guy and don't like really hoppy beers but I really like this beer. As advertised it starts out a bit hoppy but finishes with a nice smooth stout flavor. I added it to my favorites list so I remember to look for it next year as I found at the end of its limited release season.
