Draft, hexagonal 23oz lager glass
Pours a clear golden color with a finger of white head that persists for a while. Aroma is big and light citrus, with a hint of floral notes. Flavor is bitter grapefruit. It starts off light and sweet but the grapefruit busts down the front door and lays claim to the palate. It finishes very dry and moderately bitter. Not my perfect ending. The "slam" portion of the name is very fitting. They achieved their goal, but my preferences are a bit off center.

Reminds me of Sam Adams Rebel IPA but with an earthier taste. Will be trying the other beers in this series. Not a mind-blowing IPA, but still worth trying.

Standard IPA fare not overwhelmingly good or bad

Too hoppy. But as far as too hoppy goes, it has a nice aftertaste.

Exceptional beer. Hoppy, citrus flavors throughout, malt profile complements but does not overpower. Growler fill @ Shrewsbury Liquors.
Had in a bomber - nowhere as good.

This was delicious and refreshing, wanted another one. Hops rather tame for a Stone beer, but still plenty enough. Grapefruit flavor not overdone. Very good. Bottle, March 2013.

Soapy with bitter finish. But huge ABV.

Little bit of sweetness flavor

Very weak head. Strong citra hop aroma - floral and citrusy. Light bread/malt aroma. Strong sour citrus (though not as a sour beer) and light malt. Bitter grapefruit aftertaste, though without the citrus as much. Quite strong, too much so at the sake of good balance.

I love hoppy citrusy IPAs and when I heard about this I ran out to get one immediately. Appearance is a bright sunset orange with an awesome nose of grape fruity citrus. The taste however was a massive disappointment. Basically this was nothing but bitterness like from a grapefruit rind. Not enjoyable and almost a drain pour but I powered through it
