The label says it is an ale, but really a stout. Pours pitch black, dark foamy head that dissipates quickly. Pretty good, nice vanilla flavor, barrel aging comes through on the finish. A little creamy. Sweet. The lactose gives it a full body. Hard to believe it is 5.3% ABV.

Has a great flavor but tasted a little twang like sour on my lips. Maybe my example was soured. Not sure.
