Tastes a little like I imagine fermented mushroom water would taste.

Roasted malt with caramel sweet finish.

St. Charles Porter - Chocolatey! Dang near a Guinness Stout. First sip, after having an O'Fallon Pumpkin Beer, was "Wow! This is rich, chocolatey and delicious!". Fairly heavy - not a Summertime treat. Nice, punchy low mids, about 250 hz so it thumps your chest. No harsh high end, just buttery, tubular goodness. Les Paul through a Marshall with the shrillness eq'd out?

Smoother and sweeter from the bottle vs. poured in a glass

Not a strong porter taste here. A slight maltiness with very slight coffee undertones, but overall a weak example of a porter. More like a brown ale.

Tastes like a decent beer

Smooth. Great with a meal but not really for drinking separately.

Very sweet for a porter, and not heavy either. A bit bitter and hoppy still, mostly after the sweetness wears off. Almost like a nut brown ale. Full body, but not too balanced, as it comes in waves.

I might actually like darker beers now. Mind blown.
